Water Conservation

PolyTurf synthetic grass is a sustainable, water conserving alternative to natural grass which does not require any water to be maintained. According to the EPA, the average American household uses 320 gallons of water per day, about 30 percent of which is devoted to outdoor uses. More than half of that outdoor water is used for watering lawns and gardens. Nationwide, landscape irrigation is estimated to account for nearly one-third of all residential water use, totaling nearly 9 billion gallons per day.

California and the western United States are subject to water shortages and droughts. Natural turf removal rebates are available in many areas through local water districts to help customers transition away from water consuming natural lawns to water conserving lawns and landcapes.

Our EnviroFlow rapid draining backing contains recycled content and is made with postindustrial recycled polypropylene fibers. Waste from the manufacturing process is recycled and re-used as well. The manufacturing process for EnviroFlow uses very little energy and water, helping conserve valuable resources and helping increase U.S. energy security and independence.

Life Cycle Management

PolyTurf products are designed to be durable and long lasting for the longest useful life possible. Some of our oldest installation have been in place for nearly twenty years and still look great! At the end of their life, many PolyTurf products are 100% recyclable. PolyTurf is a long time participant of the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) which diverts used carpet and synthetic turf from landfills and provides recycling solutions.
