Q: What is PolyTurf synthetic grass made of?

PolyTurf synthetic grass consists of non-toxic, lead-free polyethylene yarn fibers and also contains a dense nylon thatch layer for additional weight and resilience to eliminate the requirement of infill. PolyTurf products are available with a sturdy polyurethane backing or an environmentally friendly polyolefin geotextile backing made with postindustrial recycled polypropylene fiber content. PolyTurf artificial grass has undergone rigorous testing to ensure its safety and durability and contains built in anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties. Our proprietary EnviroFlow rapid draining backing allows for rapid, even drainage to prevent the buildup of bacteria and our Cool Reflect Yarn reduces the heat emmitance of our products by up to 20 degrees creating a safer and more comfortable play area.

Q: What type of base is PolyTurf installed on?

PolyTurf synthetic grass is generally installed on top of a few inches of class two permeable road base but it can also be installed on top of concrete, asphalt, and any other stable surface. PolyTurf can also be installed directly on compacted soil if a PolyDrain drainage mat is used. Our experienced representatives are happy to help determine the best installation details for your specific project. Q: How is PolyTurf synthetic grass maintained?

PolyTurf is virtually maintenance free, but to get the most out of your artificial turf we recommend minimum upkeep. Fallen leaves and debris should be removed from the turf so they do not decompose and create and environment for weeds to grow. For pet applications, pet waste should be removed regularly and the turf should be rinsed as needed with PolyTurf Refresh, our all-natural enzymatic odor neutralizer and anti-microbial cleaner. If the turf blades fall flat over time, brushing with a stiff broom or brush is recommended.
